YWCA Madison is seeking candidates for a Residence Counselor.
The Residence Counselor is a part of the Housing Department and is responsible for providing a supportive environment for permanent residents of the YWCA. The Residence Counselor coordinates all aspects of permanent housing, including determining eligibility for housing, one-on-one supportive counseling, activities and meetings for residents, and community referrals. The Residence Counselor will provide culturally inclusive, trauma informed programming and services as well as incorporation of best practice techniques.
This is a full-time (36 hours per week), salaried position. We offer an excellent benefits package.
The ideal candidate will have experience and familiarity with housing issues and resources, including knowledge of landlord/tenant law, working with low-income women and referring them to appropriate community resources, advocacy, case management and/or group and individual counseling. Additionally, the candidate will also possess excellent relationship building and record keeping skills.
